FOR: 1 Decision Support Analyst (FT) JOB POSTING – Non-Union # 2570

 DEPARTMENT: Health Information Management Program

 DATE: 2019 08 16 to 2019 08 23 SALARY RANGE: Per Experience

 The Decision Support Analyst position will report to the Manager of Decision Support & HIM. This position shall provide ongoing support to the inpatient and outpatient Mental Health management team and departmental staff related to quality improvement initiatives, electronic documentation and data management systems. Will also have the ability to apply Mental Health and Addictions clinical situations in relation to data analysis and monitoring trends throughout our system. Will use a variety of sources both internal and external to assist with the planning and implementation of programs.

Qualifications

  • 2 – 4 Years Data Collection, analysis and data management in a healthcare setting - Required
  • 2 - 4 Years Leading and/or supporting initiatives/projects focused on improving health equity - Asset 
  • Coordinates collection of indicator data and trends, participation in external benchmarking. 
  • Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of resident safety principles and practices into all day to day activities. 
  • Provides input to and/or prepares reports, briefing notes, presentations, statistics and analysis, for Senior Management as requested. 
  • Leading and/or supporting analytical activities and environmental scans 
  • Participates on committees, work groups, task forces and special projects as assigned. 
  • Preparing various types of communication products including reports, power point presentations and briefing notes for a diverse audience. 
  • Reviewing, interpreting and synthesizing information from diverse sources. 
  • Providing regular updates/status reports as required, presenting and participating in meetings and committees. 
  • Working knowledge of Crystal Reports, SPSS, Cognos, MS Excel 
  • Ability to interpret statistical data as it relates to outcomes and performance levels 
  • Knowledge with Provincial Funding Models, CIHI, Coding and Abstracting of Clinical Data 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of RAI-MH, BSharp, DATIS, OCAN and CDS, an asset 

Education & Certification

  • Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Required Communications or related field - Required 
  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Healthcare Administration, Statistics or related field - Preferred

Background:

Applications are now being accepted for a full-time Human Resources Generalist.  The successful applicant would be required to work Monday to Friday (75 hours per bi-weekly pay period). 

As our Human Resource Generalist, you will:
• Respond to employee queries regarding company policies, practices, programs and processes relating to the employee experience.
• Provide advice, guidance and support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, attendance, leaves, and onboarding administration.
• Be responsible for maintenance of the Human Resources standard operating procedures including uncovering opportunities to enhance systems while ensuring accuracy.
• Ensure weekly payroll is submitted in a timely manner.
• Administers all WSIB reports and claims.
• Participates in Health & Safety committee.
• Organizes and maintains department and employee files.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly reports.
• Organizes and manages uniforms.
• Abides, instills and demonstrates all provincial laws including privacy.
• Practices Health & Safety guidelines.
• Participate in the hiring process from beginning to end through attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling, conducting interviews, managing the hiring paperwork and processing the administration/onboarding of new employees and contractors.
• Assist in tracking of work permits; proactively following up with staff to ensure paperwork is received and/or submitted prior to expiration.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian Federal and Provincial legislation.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining applicant data integrity using resources and tools, while maximizing efficiency.
• Look continuously for opportunities to enhance culture and employee experience.
• Participate on committees such as Health & Safety Committee and Social Events.

Ideal Candidate will have:

• Have 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources or related field
• College or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources
• Previous experience working in a health care setting desired
• Preferred that the candidate is working towards a CHRP Designation or has a CHRP Designation
• Excellent computer skills with excel and web based software programs, including HRIS systems.
• Work well as part of a team and can build strong relationships but can also work autonomously
• Possess excellent interpersonal and decision making skills and are critical thinkers
• Have strong learning orientation focused on providing a positive customer experience for stakeholders
• Have the ability to identify and solve problems in a structured and analytical way
• Are highly motivated with sound organizational skills
• Adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy
