Leamington District Memorial Hospital (LDMH) has been part of the South Essex Community since 1950. “providing compassionate care – close to home.”
Over the years, we have been dedicated to improving the health status of the people we serve. With compassion and in partnership with others we strive to provide quality, continuity of service and excellence in health care.
As the only Essex County hospital outside the City of Windsor, the Hospital serves approximately 75,000 residents in South Essex and the surrounding municipalities. These include the Towns of Leamington and Kingsville, and the Communities of Wheatley, Pelee Island, Essex, Harrow, and Lakeshore.
Erie Shores HealthCare provides quality healthcare services including: 24 hour Emergency Department, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Intensive Care, Diagnostic Services and a wide range of Ambulatory Care programs.

The Maternal-Newborn Obstetrical Unit offers progressive, family centered maternity care. Newborns “room-in” and are cared for by their mothers with the assistance of their primary nurse.

Surgical services are provided in three operating rooms.
Pre Admission Surgical Clinics (PASC),
Same Day Admit Program and Out Patient Surgery are all available.
Critical post-operative care is provided by the Intensive Care Unit.
Emergency & Outpatient Programs
The Emergency Department operates 24 hours per day with a Physician onsite.
Emergency Physicians at the Hospital support the Clinic staff and patients through videoconferencing equipment.
As part of our commitment to provide service close to home, the Hospital has developed specialty clinics for outpatient services. The following Outpatient Clinics are currently offered to residents in our community:

Mental Health Program
Ontario Breast Screening Program
Pre Admission Surgical Clinic
VideoCare Consultations - these are supporting patients to access specialists at a distance. An example might be a follow-up visit by videoconference with Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto.
Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services
The Hospital operates a comprehensive Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Service that includes full Radiography Services, Ultrasound, Mammography, a CT Scan and Nuclear Medicine.
The Cardiopulmonary Department performs Pulmonary Function Tests, Respiratory Therapy, ECG’s, Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring and Echocardiography.
Clinical Pharmacy services include drug utilization, counseling and pain control and management.
